According to Mashable, Twitter is going to release an official Tweet Button this week for sharing articles on websites and counting how many times a URL has been shared. The Tweet Button is designed to be the most comprehensive counter of retweets and shares across Twitter’s network. It is a single line of code that you can use to be added to any website. And there are three versions of the button (110×20, 55×20, 55×63) with five different settings for customization.

As we know the TweetMeme and Retweet are exactly offering the same services, and TweetMeme’s retweet button is very popular around the web blogosphere. Once Twitter Tweet Button rolls out, it will probably become the effectively competitor against TweetMeme. Facebook has released its like button, so we would not be surprised that Twitter follows this social network trend. Can TweetMeme or Retweet compete with Twitter’s official Tweet Button? Will Tweet Button kill TweetMeme? Share your comments.
