ahhhh I hope you have not got a dell yet they are known for being problematic right from the start. Consumer complaints about Dell Laptops I am on my powerbook G4 that i have had for years with very few problems and am loving it. I have a Windows Xp desktop that My friend and I built to balance it out however. Go with a mac laptop more reliable, harder to hack, and overall never crash or freeze up.

Get a mac. The list of positives are too long for me to post here. Pay a little more now, get a better machine.

Both brands are leading in the world and it would be difficult to choose. But, I’d like to choose Apple because I used this brand laptop past 2 years and it was good response.

This document is geared at understanding the differences between Mac and Windows computers.

The University does not recommend one platform over another. DoIT provides extensive support for both PCs and Macs and their software. When making your decision, a good rule of thumb is to "go with what you know." A student faces many new challenges when starting college; it's probably a good idea not to add the effort of learning a new operating system. Here are some other issues to consider.
