I'm relatively new when it comes to SEO and I was wanting to know, what is the difference between white hat and black hat SEO?

I understand that, essentially, the purpose of SEO is to use keywords related to your business/website in as many places as possible to make your website appear more highly ranked in Google/other search engines.

there are many differences in white hat and black hat seo there is one more which is gray hat seo and understanding all the difference is very hard..

however, if you use duplicate content, buy links these are black hat seo..

Hello there, the difference between the both is, black hat search engine optimisation is using tactics that is deceiving to search engines like Google. What that means is, lets say you create text in your html file with lots of keywords, though having that text as the same color as the background will make that block of text only appear to googlebot and not your visitors, thus deceiving. Or creating a blog with intent just to have links pointing to a particular website etc. There are many other methods which you shouldn't know about anyhow.

if you do with software linkbuilding that is black hat seo if you do manual link building that is white hat seo
