What does recent Google algorithm change mean for High rankings?

Hello all, I'm new to this forum, and love to share seo insights with other webmasters here. I wanted to start a post to see how you all going with new Google algorithm changes. Have any of you seen any drop in Google rankings for your own websites.

Also, although I respect that there are good old seo methods (like dir submissions, article submissions, link exchange etc)

Do any of you know of any other seo tactics.
Anyhow I look forward to your replies

Google change its algorithm time to time to make it better and this is really necessary for the webmaster to get update so that they just adapt the changes.If they are not able to adapt the changes then they may loose their all efforts.
