Default <canvas> in HTML5

Hi everyone,

I've been learning a little about APIs in HTML5 and have realised this is a new element.

However, what the hell is a 'raster-rendering space' - I know it refers to the drawing environment in the browser that is created when the <canvas> element is used, but have no idea what this terms means.

Help please!
