Could you share some important tips on how to create a good web site?

I am defiantly no expert but I would have to say that there are a number of ways to go about making a good web site.
1. you could go to school and learn in a classroom.
2. you could learn about it online. there are extensive web sites that go into great detail about the code ex: go to this site w3schools.com they have very easy to learn tutorials on what you would like to know in HTML CSS PHP ASP Javascript and plenty more.
3. My favorite is just try and error then fix and learn. It seems to be the best way unless you just sit back and learn all the syntax then go and try to create something.
4. It doesn't always help just knowing the syntax I think that you need to formulate a game plan about what you want out of a site, provide great content and become an authority in that content, however this is no easy task given there are going to be thousands of sites similar to yours. 'You need to stand out of the crowd. It takes time and commitment just like anything anyone does to get good at.
Now I am rambling on and on I guess winner what you should really do is figure out what kind of website you want then research websites similar and see what works for them and what doesn't and eliminate what isn't working and keep what does. Update regularly to show that it isn't just some static web page with no user involvement. Nowadays blogs and forums are the way to go if you want to create activity within a community of users. Think more about what your going to present to the person viewing your website in terms of content and then focus on designing, or focus on making it look good then focus on content. and did I mention update regularly.

You can use web editing tool such as NVU if you're planning to build a simple webpage.

But it'll be better if you spend some time understanding the html language because that will be a great help for you to come up with excellent design later.
