On Friday (31 July 2009) Mozilla Firefox was downloaded for the one billionth time since its initial v1.0 release in 2004.

It's still my favorite browser!

Its supposedly the only application to be downloaded 1 billion times. I don't see any other close competitor for now except maybe AVG Free and a few others. Firefox also has the record for the most number of downloads in a single day.
