VeriSign, the organization who manages the .COM and .NET registry, has announced a price increase for both of these extensions beginning on July 1, 2010. You might receive email notifications from Godaddy, Name.com and other domain name registrars that will increase by 7% and the new price for .NET registrations will go up by 10%. In other words, the price for .COM registrations will increase by 7% and the new price for .NET registrations will go up by 10%. The VeriSign price increase will apply to new registrations as well as renewals that occur on or after July 1st. We strongly advise you to avoid these price increases on their existing domain names by renewing your domain names before June 30, and don’t forget to register any domain name with lower price.
